Meet Karen Vernon
BABCP Accredited CBT Therapist | RMN | BSc (Hons) | PG Dip CBTp-bd
I’m Karen Vernon, a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist and Registered Mental Health Nurse with specialist expertise in anxiety, confidence and the psychological impact of menopause.
I founded Menopause Masters® after recognising that many women navigating perimenopause and menopause were struggling with brain fog, anxiety and a loss of confidence, yet often had limited access to evidence-based psychological support.
Using evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) alongside an understanding of the cognitive and emotional impact of hormonal change, I help professional women regain clarity, confidence and control—at work and beyond.
Every strategy I teach is grounded in evidence-based CBT and designed to be practical, achievable and applicable to real life—helping women build lasting confidence rather than simply coping day to day.
Through Menopause Masters®, I have developed specialist CBT-based programmes designed to support both professional women and organisations in understanding and managing the psychological impact of menopause.

Frequently Asked Questions
Is Menopause Masters® suitable if I’m still in perimenopause?
Yes.
Menopause Masters® is designed for women experiencing both perimenopause and menopause. Many of the psychological symptoms—such as brain fog, anxiety, poor concentration, sleep difficulties and loss of confidence—often begin years before periods stop.
Is this therapy?
No.
The Academy is an educational programme created by a BABCP Accredited Cognitive Behavioural Therapist. It teaches evidence-based CBT techniques that you can apply yourself in everyday life.
It is not a replacement for individual psychological therapy or medical treatment, but it can complement both.
Will this help if I’m taking HRT?
Absolutely.
Whether you’re using HRT, cannot take HRT, or have chosen not to use it, the psychological impact of menopause can still affect confidence, thinking and emotional wellbeing.
The Academy focuses on the cognitive and emotional aspects that hormones alone may not fully address.
I don’t have severe symptoms. Is it still worth doing?
Yes.
Many women join because they simply don’t feel like themselves anymore.
If you’ve noticed brain fog, increased anxiety, self-doubt, reduced confidence or feel you’re constantly “pushing through,” the programme provides practical strategies to help you regain clarity and resilience before symptoms become overwhelming.
What makes Menopause Masters® different?
Unlike many menopause programmes, Menopause Masters® is built around evidence-based Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT).
Rather than offering generic advice, it explains why symptoms occur and teaches practical psychological tools you can immediately apply at work and in everyday life.
The programme combines specialist menopause knowledge with BABCP-accredited CBT expertise.
How long will I have access?
You’ll receive lifetime access to the Academy.
This allows you to revisit lessons whenever you need them and work through the programme at your own pace.
How long does the programme take?
The Academy includes eight structured modules that you can complete in your own time.
Many women work through one module each week, while others prefer to move more slowly and revisit sections whenever they need additional support.
Do I need any previous CBT experience?
Not at all.
Everything is explained in clear, straightforward language.
The techniques are suitable whether you’ve never encountered CBT before or you’ve had therapy previously.
Is the Academy suitable if I’m struggling with anxiety?
Yes.
Many women join because anxiety has become one of the most distressing parts of menopause.
The programme includes practical CBT strategies for managing worry, calming the nervous system, improving confidence and reducing the cycle of anxiety.
Can this help with brain fog?
Yes.
Brain fog is one of the most common reasons women enrol.
The Academy explains why menopause can affect concentration, memory and decision-making, and provides practical CBT strategies to improve focus, mental clarity and confidence.
Will this replace seeing my GP?
No.
Menopause Masters® is designed to complement—not replace—medical advice.
If you’re concerned about your symptoms or treatment options, you should continue to seek advice from your GP or menopause specialist.
